I made it. I am in the Condo

After an epic last couple of days, I an happy to be in Florida. I was on call 4 of the last five days. Luckily, the gods smiled on me and I was able to get a good amount of sleep. My wife and two kids, six bags and a bike arrived without an incident.

Panama City seems to be an interesting place. I am not sure why, but there are people exercising everywhere. Even my wife was a little struck by the people "really pushing" that last workout. Our condo is @ the 1/2 mile mark on the run, so getting to and from the race site should be without any issue. Now however, I am going to go to bed. I am looking forward to seeing folks on Friday to put some names to faces.

PS - Not sure if it is a good omen or not, but i ran into Frank Farrar again(met him at IMMOO last year) at the airport.

Next Post, PICTURES.

110 lbs of light weight gear

Last swim this am before the beach swim. And I have packed my transition bag and gear plus all my kids "needs" Hope we arent overweight. I use big bags with wheels instead of small bags that I have to carry. We go trick or treating in a few minutes and then to bed with an early wake up and trip to the airport and then a 4hr drive from JAX to PCB hopefully gteeing there before 1500 (3pm). See ya there

Countdown

Last workout is banked! I look forward to meeting Rich, Patrick, and all of you there. A friend forwarded me some articles that Rich wrote that are great reads. I'm posting them below.

Getting Ready

My last day of work before taking a day off to pack and then to fly down to Jacksonville and drive to PCB. Taking my family (Wife and 2 kids 5 &3).
Rode my commuter bike to and from work to get a little bit of a work out. Shipped my tri bike via Tri Bike Transport last week.
Got the Jack o Latern done tonight and now I have to rethink my packing again and skim through "Going Long" and the articles on Crucible fitness to get my head straight.
This is my first IronMan and Blog entry;) Race number 867

Florida Nerves

Today was my last day at work before we head down to PCB. I had numerous people wanting to talk to me about the race which is fine except for the nerves that it brings on when you continually talk about it. We are almost packed up and ready to head out in the morning. We did a short 30 minute bike ride today with a few threshold intervals thrown in and felt really good. My parents are already in Florida in their RV waiting on us. They are our official support crew which is great. Off to pack! :) Kim
